Concrete Batching Plant Selection Guide – Detailed Explanation of Auxiliary System Selection for Long-Term Stable Operation
For ready-mixed concrete batching plants, highways, municipal engineering, and large-scale infrastructure projects, selecting the appropriate Asphalt Mixing Plant directly determines the project's construction efficiency, finished concrete quality, and long-term operating costs. Improper selection can easily lead to capacity mismatch, equipment idleness, and even insufficient concrete supply during peak construction periods. As a professional manufacturer of stationary and mobile concrete plants in China, Zeyu Heavy Industry has extensive global project experience, with business spanning countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Ethiopia. We have compiled a comprehensive and practical batching plant selection guide, covering overall configuration, core components, and auxiliary equipment selection, aiming to guide overseas clients in standardized equipment procurement. This article focuses on the selection of auxiliary equipment.
Aggregate Batching Plant and Storage Silos
The single silo volume of a standard RCC concrete batching plant is generally ≥20m³. If belt conveyors or concrete silos are used to save storage space, the capacity can be expanded to a larger size; the single storage silo volume of a concrete batching tower generally exceeds 50 cubic meters. Two common batching plant structures: All-steel above-ground type (easy to maintain and drain, can be fed by loaders/belt conveyors); Concrete-steel underground silo type (can be fed by dump trucks/bulldozers, has good insulation performance in cold regions such as Mongolia, but is inconvenient to maintain).

Aggregate Lifting and Conveying System
Inclined belt conveyors are the preferred choice for medium and large-sized mixing plants. They are stable in operation, highly efficient, and easy to retrofit with enclosed dust control systems. Although they occupy a larger area, their maintenance costs are relatively low. Bucket-type elevators have a compact layout and small footprint, but high maintenance costs and poor stability, and are rarely used in modern large-scale mixing equipment.
Main Mixing Workshop Environmental Configuration
New industrial concrete mixing plants adopt a fully enclosed main workshop equipped with centralized dust removal devices to meet global environmental standards. In construction sites in extremely cold and frigid regions, additional external insulation layers are required to ensure smooth production during winter. Due to severe dust pollution, open-style simple mixing plants have been gradually phased out or banned in many regions.
Weighing and Metering System
Currently, there are two main weighing methods: one is cumulative weighing, which has a compact structure and low feed height, but cannot individually control the weighing accuracy of each raw material; the other is single aggregate weighing, which can precisely control the proportion of each raw material, resulting in higher mixing quality, higher cost, and a higher feed height, and is widely used in high-standard ready-mixed concrete batching plants with strict concrete strength requirements.
Powder Silos and Cement Conveying System
The number and capacity of cement silos should be configured according to the local cement supply frequency and raw material types. All cement silos should be equipped with level indicators for real-time inventory monitoring. Screw conveyors are currently the mainstream powder conveying device, offering stable conveying and flexible layout; pneumatic conveying is only suitable for short-distance conveying because air pressure control is more difficult for long-distance conveying.

Selection Rules for Supporting Standard Components
Core auxiliary components directly determine the reliability of the entire machine. Zeyu Heavy Industry consistently equips its global clients' overseas projects with key components, including sensors, butterfly valves, mixing reducers, and electrical components, and uses internationally renowned brand spare parts to improve equipment stability and extend equipment lifespan.
